Introduction to Color Tattooing

WORKSHOP

✦ english version coming soon ✦

The Workshop

Your guide on this new journey.

I developed this workshop to be the starting point for your study of color in tattooing. Like many tattoo artists, I spent the first years of my career working exclusively with black tattoos and felt completely lost when I decided I would learn to work with color.

I created this workshop to guide you on this new journey and to give you all the tools you need to simplify the process right away.

Color Theory

How does additive synthesis (mixing/combining pigments) react to different skin tones, and how can these results be used to your advantage in your application?

Pigments

Why do some colors change so much after healing?
The answer lies in the pigments that make up each color; I'm going to teach you how to interpret the compositions of paints and predict the result of each one.

How to mix colors

Mix directly into the stopper?

With a mixer? Directly into the needle?
These choices depend on several factors and have a direct influence on the final result.

The perfect fit

Is it possible to apply color as well as fineline using the same machine?

I'm going to teach you which mechanical factors influence color pigmentation and how this influences your choice of machine.

Pigmentation Strategies

A good color tattoo requires a good pigmentation strategy.

Which colors should be pigmented first? Which needles should be used? How to finish the tattoo with vibrant light tones instead of bloody ones?

The right needle and the right color will transform your work.

Healing of the Coloring

Healing is one of the most important steps to ensure an amazing result. The application technique has a direct influence on the healing process. I'll tell you what to expect from each stage of this process and teach you how to guarantee perfect healing of your colors.

Generate interest through color.

Okay, you've learned how to apply amazing color tattoos... But how do you present this to your clients in a way that sparks interest and trust?

I'll tell you, through my experience transitioning my style, how I generated engagement, trust, and desire for my colorful work, even though I had no prior experience at the time.

Chromatic Awareness

In addition to providing a complete guide to confidently applying color and generating desire in your clients, I'll give you some exercises to develop your color awareness. These are simple practices that will sharpen your perception of the colors around you, making your colorful work increasingly intuitive and uncomplicated.

" I'm speechless at the quality of this mentorship... seriously!"

Best investment I've made in recent times!
Lots of useful information that we barely think about in our daily lives, but that has a huge impact on our work.

Besides exchanging ideas about various other details, which made me feel welcomed and understood! I cleared up a huge number of doubts, not only about coloring, but about life and profession!"

Facilitator

Gabriela Dássio

I am Gabriela Costa Batista, better known as Gabriela Dássio.
I've been a tattoo artist for 8 years, I have a degree in Graphic Design, I've been a draftsman for 16 years, and my specialty in tattooing is colorful flora and fauna.

Over the years I have studied and mastered various fineline and color techniques, which led me to tattoo in St. Louis and Chicago, in the United States. Having contact with various foreign pigments, I learned to get the best results from national inks. My palette is 100% composed of Electric Ink/Easy Glow.

In 2020 I made a major career transition, leaving behind my four solid years working with black fineline to dedicate myself to the study of color on the skin.

Today, with over 4 years of experience, I've transformed all my knowledge into a powerful tool to help you confidently start working with color, unleashing your creativity and refining your visual identity with technical expertise.
